The searches will be based upon the information provided by you, therefore, you will also agree with Weddings Past and Present that all such information is supplied on the express understanding that Weddings Past and Present cannot accept responsibility for damage or loss arising from insufficient or inaccurate information supplied, whether by reason of mistake or negligence on the part of Weddings Past and Present, or whether by false or inaccurate information being supplied.

Missing People Searches

When instructed, Weddings Past and Present will undertake a comprehensive UK search on your behalf, it is for this reason that Weddings Past and Present are unable to offer refunds.

When suitable matches are found, on your behalf, Weddings Past and Present will make contact either by letter and/or telephone to that person(s). Addresses and telephone numbers will not usually be disclosed until confirmation has been received.

Negative Responses

In the unlikely event that Weddings Past and Present are unable to locate anyone on your behalf, at the sole discretion of Weddings Past and Present a refund in part may be offered.

Please note that a negative response does not necessarily mean that the person you are seeking is not living within the UK. An estimate of around 20% of the UK population will have opted out of the electoral roll edited version and therefore will not appear on other databases that are available and held by Weddings Past and Present. 5% of the UK population are not registered as living anywhere.

On occasions, it may occur that contact and/or correspondence will be met with a negative response because the person you are seeking does not wish to establish contact with you for whatever reason. In these circumstances, Weddings Past and Present will be unable to offer any refund, you will be sent a report, and on this basis you will be able to continue your own investigations.

Maiden Name Searches

Maiden name searches are very time consuming and will be undertaken on the understanding that in the event of no matches being found, the £5 deposited at the outset of the search will not be refundable. An updated report on progress during the process of searching will be sent to you. If you have paid the full fee in advance, then £5 will be refunded to you by way of a cheque.

Property Owner Searches

Under Licence No: C02W0002403 these searches are undertaken with the Land Registry.

Data Protection Act

Weddings Past and Present is registered and operates within the guide lines of the Data Protection Act.

Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
